How to get Good Advising

Two-Course Sequence Requirement for Mathematics Majors (both MA and AMA)

Students in both programs must take an advanced two-course sequence in at least one important area of mathematics, such as algebra, analysis, numerical analysis, probability theory, etc. This two-course sequence will be counted among the required and elective mathematics courses taken by the student, and will be subject to the approval of the student's adviser or the coordinator of advising. Possible two-course sequences are MA 407 - MA 437, MA 407 - MA 521, MA 425 - MA 426, MA 425 - MA 512, MA 401 - MA 402, MA 427 - MA 428,  MA  421 - MA 422, MA 421 - MA 546, MA 421 - MA 544, MA 405 - MA 520, MA 414 - MA 425, MA 425 - MA 515, MA 416 - MA(CSC, OR) 565, MA 405 - MA(OR) 504, or MA 405 - MA(OR) 505.
