Budapest

Study Abroad

Two programs in Europe that are focused on mathematics are the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics and the Math in Moscow Semester. For articles about NC State students' experiences in the Budapest program, see the Mathematics Department's newsletters from November 1995 and October 1997. Contact Dr. Paur for more information about these programs.

For general NC State study abroad information, contact the Study Abroad Office.

Study abroad scholarships are available. The American Mathematical Society has some scholarships for the Math in Moscow Semester.

Summer Programs

Opportunities at Other Universities

Each fall, Penn State offers the Mathematics Advanced Study Semesters for talented undergraduate math students from the United States. Students take three math courses specially designed for MASS participants and do research projects. The program provides excellent preparation for students planning on doing graduate work in mathematics and pursuing a career as a research mathematician. For an NC State student's experience in the MASS Program, see the Mathematics Department's March 2003 newsletter.
