SUPPORT
Opportunities to Give to the NC State Mathematics Department

The NC State Mathematics Department is going from strength to strength, and now has multiple activties that would benefit from your support. There are many scholarships and awards for students listed on the college website. You can contribute to these and other funds either using the mathematics department pledge form or using the online college form. We would also like to draw your attention to two recent funds.

The Kwangil Koh Distinguished Lecture Fund
This distinguished lecture series will honor Dr. Kwangil Koh (1931 - 2009), a professor of Mathematics at NC State. The first public lecture is being planned for 2010. The series is intended to raise the public's awareness of the importance, beauty, and utility of mathematics.

The Carl Meyer Graduate Student Travel Fund
This fund, set up in 2009, provides finds for graduate students to travel to conferences. This activity can have a crucial influence in a graduate student's career, facilitating all-important professional contacts during the last year or two of graduate study, and providing opportunities to publicize thesis research results.
