Application Information for International Students
  • All applications must be submitted online.
  • Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in mathematics or in a closely related field with a strong mathematical background.
  • A GPA of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0) in the sciences is required.
  • GRE General Test scores are required and the Subject Test is recommended.
  • Highest consideration will be given to applicants with TOEFL scores 550 (old system) and higher.  The TOEFL is changing.  The mathematics department requires the minimums as set by the university.  The latest guidelines are in Section 2.3 of the Graduate Administrative Handbook.
  • The department offers a number of financial aid packages to eligible students.
  • For most favorable consideration for the fall term, all application materials should be received by February 1.
