Requirements*
Strong undergraduate
mathematics background, including Calculus (NCSU MA
141/241/242),
Differential Equations (MA
341 and 401), and Linear Algebra (MA
405),
with a preference for students that also took Analysis I & II
(MA
425/426).
GPA
of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0) in the sciences required; overall GPA
of 3.5 or higher preferred.
GRE
General Test is required. GRE
Math Subject Test scores are recommended**. Scores must be less

TOEFL/IELT: The MFM program follows NCSU guidelines for the TOEFL and IELT. Internet
based test standards are in the Graduate

have GRE scores of 700 or higher on the Quantitative section, 500
or higher on the Verbal section, and 4.0 or higher on the Analytical
