Personal Statement Guidelines
Your Personal Statement
can contain any information you wish to provide, including why you
were inspired to study financial mathematics, what you plan to accomplish
with your degree, and guidance in understanding your application.
In particular, you should consider explaining the following issues.
Class
Rank and
Grade
Point Average. Many transcripts are difficult to evaluate,
especially from foreign schools. If your class rank and/or GPA
are not clearly stated on your transcript, you are encouraged
to comment on them here.
NCSU
students transferring into Financial Mathematics or planning to earn
their FM degree en-route to another degree can include a preliminary
list of of courses proposed to be used for the FM program.
Students applying for
admission for any semester other than the Fall should
provide a semester-by-semester plan that includes the Core
Courses.
