Checking Mail on campus on Winows NT using Netscape Messenger

Checking Mail on a UNIX computer

  1. Once you log in to UNIX, hold down your middle mouse button to get the application menu
  2. Choose the second option, the one labeled Z-mail Electronic Mail
  3. If you got a message saying you had mail but they do not show up in Z-mail, you are probably set up for IMAP.

Checking Mail via Internet Explorer's Outlook Express

  1. Inside Outlook Express choose "Tools" then "Account" and "Add"
  2. Choose "General" and under the section "Servers" type unity.ncsu.edu
  3. Now fill in the information labeled "Name" and "E-mail"
  4. Choose "Servers" and in the section SMTP (outgoing mail) type unity.ncsu.edu
  5. In the section Incoming Mail Server type POP3
  6. Connect to the internet through your Internet Service Provider
  7. Inside Outlook Express choose "Read Mail"
