Hooking up a laptop to a built in Projectors

  1. Plug in VGA cable (blue in image below) to your laptop and other side to wall plug-in. The plug-in unit is either located at front of front (where teacher stands to teach) or

    side of room. In HA 201 , the cable is already setup and you will only need to plug it into your laptop.

  2. If you are using a PC, you will not need an adaptor for the VGA cable.



    If you are using a MAC, you will need the adaptor that came with the laptop.

  3. Turn on the projector by pressing the Green Power/On button located at the top right of the remote. Remotes located in the math office and are labeled with the rooms on it.

  4. Turn on your laptop.

  5. The image should display. If not follow the below steps:

    Press RGB 1 or RGB2 if using the NEC remote. If using the SONY remote, Press the INPUT button until you see the image.

    On a MAC, click on the blue apple icon located at the top left of your screen, select System Preferences. Select Displays located in the second row. A screen like the one below should open. Click on the box with "Show displays in menu bar". Then select Arrangement. You should have the screen on the right. Click on Mirror Displays.

     



    On a PC, you will have to select the display by Pressing at the same time the FN (function key) and the F5 or F7 or F8 key depending on which Model you are using (whichever is labeled LCD/CRT or has the icon of a display). Wait to see if the display comes on the laptop and screen. If not, repeat this step.

    Repeat: Press RGB 1 or RGB2 if using the NEC remote. If using the SONY rempoe, press the INPUT button until you see the image.
