Help with DVI (.dvi) Files

To view dvi Files in Netscape 4

1. In the toolbar located at the top of the Netscape4 browser, choose the "Edit" option
2. Choose "Preferences" and click the white arrow next to "Navigator"
3. Choose "Applications", and in the right hand column, click on the option labeled "Tex DVI Data"
4. Choose the "Edit" option and a window should pop up.
5. Choose the option called "Application" and type " xdvi %s " in the box.
6. Choose the "OK" option for the "Application" window and the "Preferences" windows.

To change the size of your dvi screen

1. type a number from 1 to 9 followed by s
2. to make your selection permanent (say 5) go to your ~/.Xdefaults and type xdvi.shrinkFactor: 5

To read dvi in UNIX

1. xdvi filename.dvi
