Math Department Moves to SAS Hall from Scope Magazine
North Carolina State University formally dedicated its new mathematics and statistics building on Friday, May 1. At a dedication celebration attended by more than 300 faculty, students, friends and alumni, it was announced for the first time that the building would be named SAS Hall, in honor of the founders of the Cary, North Carolina-based software company.

eGrader: Using Maple to Grade Maple by Larry Norris, Associate Professor
All MA 141, 241 and 242 calculus students at NC State complete on-line homework assignments that are formatted as Maple worksheets. Calculus students use Maple, a symbolic computation software program from Maplesoft of Waterloo, Ontario, to solve homework
problems that benefit from the use of a computer.

Catching Up with Todd Fuller by John Griggs, Teaching Assistant Professor

During his senior year at NC State, basketball player and applied math major Todd Fuller produced some impressive numbers on and off the court, and was highly honored as a result. He averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game, and was named to the All ACC First Team. His 3.96 GPA landed him on the Academic All America team, and he was named the GTE National Scholar Athlete of the Year. His number 52 jersey was retired and hangs from the rafters of the RBC Center.
