The Math department at NCSU will host a reception at the SIAM annual meeting in San Diego, California on Monday July 7. If you are planning to attend this meeting or will be in the vicinity of San Diego, please come join us in the Tiki Pavilion of the Town and Country hotel in the San Diego, between 7:15-9:15pm.
PAMS and the Mathematics Department would like to congratulate Denise Seabrooks for being nominated for the 2008 SPA Awards for Excellence.

Nicole Kroeger, a sophomore majoring in mathematics, won the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for 2008-2009. (link)
The NCSU Alumni Association has named H. Thomas Banks as one of the 2008 recipients of the Association's Outstanding Research Award. Professor Banks also won the award in 1996.
